We are proud to offer our students the opportunity to participate in our Student Work Program. This program is designed to teach commitment and responsibility while allowing students to fine-tune and expand their riding, training, and horsemanship skills.
Program Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Student Work Program, applicants must be at least 12 years old, enrolled in the lesson program, and have completed their red level.
Transportation Requirement
Students must have reliable transportation to and from the barn on their scheduled shift days.
Program Purpose & Exchange
The Student Work Program is an educational opportunity where working students volunteer their time in exchange for valuable experience in the equine industry, both on and off the horse.
Hands-On Mentorship
Working students will gain hands-on skills and insights by working alongside our staff of experienced equine professionals.
Core Responsibilities & Tasks
Tasks may include horse care, stable management, grooming, tacking up, and assisting with lessons and training sessions.
Professional Reference Opportunities
This program offers a chance for students to obtain references for future job opportunities in the equine industry or other fields.
Additional Instruction & Advancement
Working students will also receive additional horsemanship instruction beyond their regular weekly lessons.
Life Skills & Personal Development
The program emphasizes important life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, goal setting, time management, work ethics, problem-solving, patience, leadership, and self-confidence.
