Strides of Grace is designed to take riders to the next level—building confidence, deepening horsemanship skills, and fostering friendships that last a lifetime. Riders of all experience levels — from first-timers to seasoned equestrians — can learn, grow, and thrive. Located in East Amherst, NY, our year-round facility features an attached indoor arena, heated viewing lounge, outdoor riding arena, and miles of trails with a beautiful creek bordering the property.
We don't just teach you to ride—we teach you to become a well-rounded equestrian. Every rider progresses through our structured curriculum program, mastering core mounted and unmounted fundamentals
It is our philosophy that horses are not tools, but rather, they are your partner. Learning to listen to them is how one truly learns to ride, and therefore, we believe horsemanship is essential to becoming a good equestrian. Strides of Grace offers an outstanding opportunity to grow into a well-rounded, well-educated equestrian. Blending riding, horsemanship, and husbandry provides our students with greater knowledge of the sport, increasing their ability to partner with the horses. This allows riders to become better equestrians.
Riding lessons
Strides of Grace is a lesson facility that provides an experience not matched in the area. We have something for the beginner to the advanced rider, ages 3 to 99, as well as everything in between. Not only do we focus on balance, riding skills, and goals, we include the knowledge of horsemanship with our included unmounted classes and curriculum based programs. Our curriculum based lesson program tracks students’ progress as they develop into versatile, well-rounded equestrians. The program covers riding skills, horsemanship, knowledge, and care using a benchmarking system that objectively teaches and tests mounted and unmounted milestones.
Every rider starts at the first level, regardless of prior experience. To complete a level, riders must consistently demonstrate mastery of all objectives over four or more lessons. Upon completion of each level, riders are awarded a ribbon and celebrated for their achievement!
Every child is matched with peers of similar ability, guided by caring instructors, and supported by the bond between horse and rider. We pride ourselves with a program that not only teaches riding but also instills responsibility, patience, and teamwork.
